Essie First Timer and Essence Ice Ice Baby with pearls

Essie First Timer and Essence Ice Ice Baby with pearls

The first thing I wanna state is that the color of Essie First Timer is not accurate as the white lines and the green took on a yellowish tinge after I applied my Poshe top coat :(

I have 2 coats of Essie First Timer on all fingers except for my ring finger which has 3 coats of Essence Ice Ice Baby and a coat of More than Words from the Hugs & Kisses collection.

Barry M Lychee and flowers

Barry M Lychee and flowers

Have always wanted to try out the multi-colored flowers since seeing it on others on Bloglovin (credit to Mr.Candiipants) and here it is :)

Base is 2 coats of Barry M Lychee, a nude that is luckily not a dupe of the rest of the nudes that I have. The consistency is a little thick, but also means 2 coats are sufficient. On a side note, it is not really aptly named as a jelly polish would be more appropriate for lychee :p

Essie Come Here! and Etude House PBK803

Essie Come Here! and Etude House PBK803

Base is Essie Come Here!, a bright red shade with orange undertones, and for the ring finger, I drew some random white flowers with black dots. I was too lazy to do it for all fingers :p so I decided to tie in the black and white accent with Etude house PBK803, a black/white/pink hex+bar glitter.

Below is plain swatch of Essie Come Here! (2 coats). I don't normally wear reds but this is a great color for summer :)

Essence Prom-berry and Hugs & Kisses Crazy in Love

Essence Prom-berry and Hugs & Kisses Crazy in Love

Managed to snag Essence Crazy in Love from the Hugs & Kisses collection and I'm glad as it is very pretty :) It has light purple glitter and silver/holographic hearts. The glitter is pretty dense so no issue with it (above is 1 coat). For the hearts, I had to fish for them but it wasn't too difficult.

You might notice that my cuticles area is messier than usual and that's cos I applied my Poshe top coat slightly beneath the base polish and it shrunk from that point, breaking up the polish as well as you can see from my index finger and pinky o(>< )o (you don't see it on my middle and ring fingers as I had scraped it away). Perhaps I have to flood my cuticles a bit when I apply Poshe next time....sigh....

Anyway, before I end this post, here is a plain swatch of Essence Prom-berry, a deep purple that is not distinctly shimmery, yet not a flat creme. It applies very smoothly and this is only 1 coat! Didn't expect to like it as much as I do but it is really gorgeous :)

OPI Bond Girls Solitaire and Pussy Galore

OPI Bond Girls Solitaire and Pussy Galore

Here is 2 coats of OPI Bond Girls Solitaire and Pussy Galore applied - Solitaire is a sparkly white with white/silver glitter and Pussy Galore is a baby pink with fushia glitter. I then dotted the middle and ring fingers with the opposite color. It doesn't show up too well in the pic but is clearer in real life.

I find that although I prefer smooth finishes, I can still bear with the OPI liquid sand finish. My only peeve with it is that my Innisfree glue base does not work  with it as it will break off in pieces instead of peeling off neatly, grr....but at least taking it off using remover is not as difficult as glitter hexes :)

Catrice Mint Me Up

Catrice Mint Me Up

Very simple mani, just two coats of Catrice Mint Me up, a light jade green with gold shimmers. It flows smoothly, has good coverage and the brush is easy to manage as well. Heard a lot about this polish so it was the first one I got when I found out that Catrice is finally here, and it didn't disappoint :)

Are there any other Catrice colors you would recommend?

Essence Date in the Moonlight and Max Factor Fantasy Fire

Essence Date in the Moonlight and Max Factor Fantasy Fire

This pic was taken a few days after painting hence the growth and tip wear. But I must say that I am experiencing shrinkage using the Poshe top coat from both cuticle and tips, and the bottle is only 1/4 through :( Will probably have to switch to another brand after finishing it, sigh....

Base is 1 coat of Essence Date in the Moonlight and 1 coat of Max Factor Fantasy Fire over it. I then applied a holographic glitter from Daiso on the tips and added white rhinestones. It reminds me a lot of space actually so I think I gotta try the galaxy nails again with these polishes someday ;)

Orly Cotton Candy with China Glaze Passion braid and Essence Make it Golden

Orly Cotton Candy with China Glaze Passion braid and Essence Make it Golden

Hi, it's been some time! I've been painting my nails and taking pics but there's an inertia after my holiday to actually sit down and draft a post (>.<) Anyway, this is my mani from 2 weeks back and base is Orly Cotton Candy, a peachy pink creme. I did the braid on the index, middle and pinky fingers with Golden Rose White and China Glaze Passion. Also applied Essence Make it Golden to the ring finger and tip of thumb.

I got the 1.6mm gold chain from BornPrettyStore as I wanted to experiment with other materials besides studs/rhinestone. It could be cut using normal scissors and comes in 100cm. Wanted to actually put the chain on the ring finger as well but I simply couldn't get it curve properly and remain untangled on the smaller surface. In fact, the chain is twisted on my thumb and doesn't lie flat but at least it was secure enough for me. It would be easier if you use it in a straight line or applying for someone else :p Nonetheless, I like the overall look with it :)

P.S. Use BNNMK31 for 10% off BornPrettyStore purchases.
