I'm pretty wary of sheer polishes, mainly because I find it hard to apply them without streakiness and because you need sooooo many coats to cover your nail line. But when I saw swatches of the OPI Ballet collection, I put aside my aversion as the sheers and glitter combi looked so pretty. I ended up getting OPI Pirouette My Whistle and a sheer jellyish pink from Essence since I figured I wouldn't use sheers that often and Essence is much cheaper than OPI ;)
Colours used were:
Base - Essence Sweet as Candy
Ribbon - Orly Prelude to a Kiss
Glitter - OPI Pirouette My Whistle
Sweet as Candy ended up quite easy to manage as it applied fairly evenly and I think this was 3 coats. The ribbon was freehand and I must say, drawing curves
was is hard!! OPI Pirouette My Whistle is gorgeous with its silver glitter and white hexes and instantly made the mani look better. One of my favourite glitters, only problem is that removal is tough as the white hexes are extremely stubborn. But I suppose I like the end result enough to bear with it and judging by the popularity of indie polishes that are loaded with all sorts of glitter, many of you think so too, right? :)
